The Puget Sound

For the more rugged among us wanting cold-water gratification (average summertime water temperature is in the mid-50s!), plunge off the Hidden Cove dock with a floating swim platform or jump from the Point White Pier. Favorite wade-in points of entry include Pritchard and Fay Bainbridge Parks and Rockaway Beach.

The Yurt Pool

Study the strokes with Kathy Cooper, who has taught swimming for the last 25 years. All skill levels as well as reluctant swimmers are welcome at the yurt-sheltered saltwater pool in Winslow. kathycooperswimming.blogspot.com

Relay Swim Around the Island

Join Arms Around Bainbridge at Blakely Harbor on August 13 and circumnavigate the islandโ€™s 30-mile coastline. Escorted by kayakers, swimmers raise funds for locals needing financial help because of a health crisis. armsaroundbainbridge.org
