The trailhead at the Grand Forest West Nature Preserve is located on Miller Road NE, just north of NE Tolo Road. This parking lot only has a capacity of 8 vehicles, however, roadside shoulder parking also exists. There are no restroom or trash facilities at this trailhead. The trail can also be accessed from the southeast corner of Battle Point Park. There are 3 parking lots at the park that all access the Battle Point Trail System, which connects to the Forest-to-Sky Trail. Battle Point Park has restrooms and trash facilities.
