The Fairy Dell Trail begins on the north side of NE Frey Avenue, across the street from the trailhead parking lot. It follows a seasonal stream to the Puget Sound shoreline. Along the way, the trail winds through some of the oldest trees on the island including several old growth Cedars and Douglas Firs. This trail is one end of the Cross Island Trail.

Other trails nearby include the Battle Point Trail System, accessed from the same parking lot, and the Forest-to-Sky Trail, accessed from the southeast corner of Battle Point Park.

The Fairy Dell Trail can be accessed from a parking lot at Battle Point Park. The parking lot is located at the corner of NE Frey Avenue and Battle Point Drive NE.
