From the trailhead, the trail climbs steeply through a forested hillside to the top of Blakely Hill where it ends at Blakely Cemetery, one of the original cemeteries on the island.

Other nearby include the Blakely Harbor Trail System, which can be accessed from the same roadside parking area, and the Fort Ward-to-Blakely Trail, which is access from a trailhead on NE Country Club Road less than 0.2 miles away.

The Blakely Cemetery Trail can be accessed from Blakely Harbor Park.  Roadside shoulder parking is available on Blakely Avenue NE east of NE Country Club Road.  The trailhead is on the north side Blakely Avenue NE across the street from Blakely Harbor Park.
