Every view of Bainbridge Island offers natural beauty, from the evergreen forest and the open, rolling farmlands to the rocky shorelines and popular family beaches. We even have one of the most beautiful gardens in the USA (and that’s not just our opinion).
We islanders love this rock we live on, and when you move here, you’ll be won over by island life, too.

Islanders have slowly and cautiously developed designated areas in a concerted effort to protect the natural beauty contained in its 5-miles-wide by 10-miles-long boundary. We acknowledge and are very protective of our natural resource!
There are more than one nonprofit environmental organizations. Bainbridge Island Land Trust, for example, is on a mission to protect and preserve Bainbridge’s natural resources.
In addition to organizational efforts, island trails and parks get loads of use by residents and visitors alike, on foot, on bikes, and even on horseback. Many islanders volunteer time and effort to maintain, improve and add to those trails.
Beach-combing at low tide is an island favorite, and so mark your calendars for those “extra low” dates to be sure not to miss out on the fun. You never know what you might discover in the islands tide pools!
Even with the island population of 23,000, you won’t feel crowded when you get outside, breathe in the clean air and see all the serene, natural lushness surrounding you.
