Description
Join Kathryn Leslie, Barb McAllister and Will Whitesmith for a provocative conversation about creating and living in an intentional community.
These three good friends have lived together in a single family home for 10 years and are relishing in the many unexpected gifts:
• Growing by being in relationship with fellow conscious human beings
• Navigating challenging conversations
• Sharing skills and conserving resources
• Creating and sharing healthy food choices
• Being seen, loved and supported
Their experiment offers an exciting alternative to living alone or in a more traditional living situation. Join the conversation about the benefits, the challenges, and the promise it holds for healthy living. Your questions are welcomed and we will also share an exercise we use for healthy communication.
About the Presenters: Friends for over 30 years, it was happenstance (or was it?) that brought them back together 10 years ago. Each of the three were going through a change, and Barb, who was living alone in the house she bought after her divorce, invited both Kathryn and Will to stay with her for as long as they wished. It all happened very organically, and soon they found themselves creating a healing environment that nurtured each of them. What they have created surpassed anything they could have imagined. They support one another, love each other unconditionally, and challenge each other to grow in the face of their unique challenges. They are intentional about everything, including: values, eating, and the design of their home environment which they totally remodeled 5 years ago to reflect their way of life. Each of them is a helper/healer in their own right, and they each express this through different mediums. Will is a shamanic practitioner; Kathryn is an organizational consultant and coach; and Barb is a coach and a recovery minister. Through living together, their friendships have grown deeper in the soup of intimacy. Each of them travels quite a bit, and when they come back to their shared house and intentional community, they know they are home.
