James Coates is a singer-songwriter from Sumner, WA, who connects with audiences through honest original songs and entertains with upbeat, high-energy covers from all genres and decades.
James inherited his love of music from his father, who taught him piano and guitar at an early age. His first moments on stage were playing bass at a local youth group and singing original songs at all-ages open mic's.
After releasing his debut album in 2012, he toured nationally, headlining Nashville's Bluebird Cafe and opening for Sheryl Crow at Woodinville's Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery.
He has received airplay on KEXP, been featured in Seattle Weekly and his latest singles "Buy My Mom a House" and "7-Year-Old Summer" were playlisted internationally.
