Description
The Bainbridge Island Library is a unique public/private partnership. The library building and grounds are owned by the people of Bainbridge Island, managed by a volunteer Board of Directors (Bainbridge Public Library), and funded solely by private donations. BPL Board also produces programs such as First Friday Art Walk in the Meeting Room Gallery Space and Speakers Forums. Staff, technology, books and materials, and administration are provided by the Kitsap Regional Library and funded by property tax dollars. The Bainbridge Island Library is a branch of the Kitsap Regional Library.
The Bainbridge Island Library is a welcoming community center with activities, programs, and resources for all ages. As a testament to the community's appreciation, more than 200 energetic and dedicated volunteers give their time and talents to keep this resource available to everyone and meaningful to the quality of their lives.
