A chance meeting with a raccoon, temporarily estranged from its companion, provided a moment of connection with Bainbridge Island's wilder residents. The image of the raccoon, alert and watchful on its arboreal perch, serves as a reminder of the park's importance as a habitat for local wildlife, even as it serves the recreational needs of the community.
