Bainbridge Island Pet Licenses

This page contains information related to pet licenses, dog licenses, cat licenses and animal licensing.

The owner of any dog over the age of 6 months must obtain an animal license from the City of Bainbridge Island for their pet. Cat licenses are optional.

If the animal is spayed or neutered the cost is $6 for a lifetime tag. Otherwise, the cost is $25 a year, renewable by each July 1.

The City will issues licenses at no cost to service dogs or service dogs in training.

Dogs do not need licenses if they are in the custody of a veterinarian, pet store, or animal shelter, or if the owners are non-residents temporarily within the city for 30 days or less.

Licenses can be obtained at the Police Department or at local veterinarians.
