Places to stay on Bainbridge Island

There is no Marriott. A handful of inns, two highway hotels about a mile from the dock, a village inn in Lynwood, and a lot of vacation rentals. That is the inventory. Book summer and holiday weekends early.

A day trip from Seattle is enough for Winslow + BIMA. Overnight is worth it when you want Bloedel and a park without watching the clock, or you came for an event. How you arrive: getting here. Once you land: getting around. What to do with the hours: things to do on Bainbridge Island.

Eagle Harbor Inn

Eagle Harbor Inn — 291 Madison Avenue South, (206) 842-1446. Harbor side, south of Winslow Way. This is the walk-to-dinner inn. Small. Often full. Voted the romantic one for a reason.

  • Walk to Winslow restaurants and the ferry. Bags up Olympic / Madison, not a highway schlep.
  • Book direct: theeagleharborinn.com. Map.
  • If it is sold out, you are in the highway-hotel or rental row. Do not assume a walk-up.

The Marshall Suites

The Marshall Suites — 350 High School Road NE, (206) 855-9666. Fifty rooms. About 1.2 miles from the dock. Non-smoking. This is the actual hotel building most visitors mean when they say “is there a hotel?”

  • Not downtown. High School Road, near 305. Getting around for the 1.2-mile gap: taxi, Uber, or a walk with luggage.
  • Winslow dinner is a short ride, not a porch-to-Winslow-Way stroll.
  • Map.

Quality Inn & Suites

Quality Inn & Suites — 920 Hildebrand Lane, (206) 842-6861. Also about 1.2 miles from the ferry. A different building from Marshall Suites. Budget, breakfast (5–9 a.m.), pets, free parking. Connecting rooms.

Inn at Pleasant Beach

The Inn at Pleasant Beach — 4699 NE Woodson Lane, (206) 866-6499. Lynwood / Pleasant Beach Village, south end. Individually furnished rooms, fireplaces, balconies. Restaurants in the village: Marketplace, Treehouse, and neighbors. If the paddle is the point of the trip: pickleball weekend.

  • Not a walk from the ferry. About ten minutes by car. BI Ride runs the ferry–Lynwood connector — book ahead. Taxi, Uber, Lyft also work.
  • Book: pleasantbeachvillage.com/the-inn. Map.
  • This is the stay if Lynwood is the point of the trip. Do not stack it with a tight last boat and Bloedel on the same afternoon unless you already live on island time.

Vacation rentals

Most beds on this island are houses and ADUs, not front desks. The bookable map is Bainbridge Island Vacation Rentals. Neighborhood, parking, and a kitchen matter more here than a loyalty number.

  • Winslow / walkable listings go first. Read the map before you book a “short ferry walk” that is actually Rolling Bay.
  • You will want a car, BI Ride, or rideshare for anything that is not downtown. Getting around.
  • Event weekends (4th of July, Chilly Hilly) book out.

Camping at Fay

Public camping on this island is Fay Bainbridge Park on the northeast shore. Beach, picnic, Cascades on a clear day. Tide matters. Not a walk from the ferry. About 15 minutes from Winslow. The visit guide — tents, RVs, cabins, ferry timing — is camping on Bainbridge. The park itself is the Fay listing.

Reserve through the Park District: biparks.org — Fay Bainbridge. Bring layers. The water is still Puget Sound in July.

Not a hotel

Sail Bainbridge lives in the lodging category because you can sleep on the boat. It is a private charter from the harbor (233 Parfitt Way SW), 1–6 guests, day sails and overnight trips. Different product. Do not walk off the ferry looking for a front desk. sailbainbridge.com.

The Explore Bainbridge app

Stay pins, walking times from the dock, live ferry. Download it on the boat. Free. No account.
