U-zhaan has been studying tabla since 1996 in Japan, India and the US. His main teachers are Anindo Chatterjee and Zakir Hussain. He has worked with many of the most famous musicians of Japan as well as hosted talk shows and TV specials with many of Japan’s celebrated actors and comedians. U-zhaan is considered the premier tabla player of Japan, and yet has taken tabla and music much further into the public awareness than just the musical stage. He has become a folk hero for art in general and is to a large degree a household name. He can be heard on dozens of albums and has appeared on most major concert stages across Japan. His creative and open mind has allowed him to not only take the stage with Classical Indian musicians world wide, but place him on stage with hip hop, rock and fusion collaborations of all kinds.

Ty Burhoe has been a disciple of the great tabla maestro, Ustad Zakir Hussain, since 1990. Ty is known for his sensitive accompaniment and melodious style. While his intense study of the classical tradition and accompaniment continue to deepen, he is also internationally recognized for being instrumental in creating unusual collaborations that weave tabla with many other musical traditions. Ty works with a broad range of artists including Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Sultan Khan, Art Lande, Krishna Das, Curandero (Miguel Espinoza), Bela Fleck, Kitaro, Rick Alan (Def Leppard), Howard Levy, Walter Becker (Steely Dan), Jon Anderson (Yes), Steve Smith (Journey) and many more. He was the tour manager and personal assistant for his teacher Ustad Zakir Hussain for 25 years, touring and producing concerts world wide. Ty also teaches tabla intensives throughout the world and plays on hundreds of albums and soundtracks, including the academy award winning documentary,”Born into Brothels”.
