Western Arrow is the music project from veterans Drew Holloway and Korum Bischoff. The two met through music when Korum was invited by Drew and bandmate Jack Forman to join their highly successful family music act Recess Monkey, who with Korum released six albums including the Amazon Original Novelties, earning the band a Grammy nomination. During the COVID-19 lockdowns of 2020, Drew and Korum began trading files and ideas for non-kids-centric music, and Western Arrow was born.
Drew Holloway grew up on influences as varied as The Beatles, The Beach Boys, 80s rap, XTC, The Smiths, and Radiohead. A 1993 Tascam PortaStudio became his songwriting tool of choice, turning sketches into songs layer by layer. When the world locked down in 2020, that same approach to home recording sparked a new creative chapter.
Korum Bischoff is a jazz drummer at heart who has applied those sensibilities to many styles, including as the drummer for The Dead Science. The son of a musician, he grew up aboard a sailboat with his brother Jherek, developing his passion for music-making while traveling the globe. He has played with Amanda Palmer, Xiu Xiu, and many others, and brings that range to every project he touches.
