Description
Cultivate awareness and understanding of your ego through the yoga of Kriya practices.
Through the practice of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), mudras, bandha locks and visualization, Swami Mukti will strengthen your understanding of your subtle energy system, deepen your meditation practice & enhance your ability to express from your Higher Self.
Zoom sessions will include delving into the practices of asana postures and inversion (vipareet karani asana), ujjayi pranayama breathing, khechari mudra and other mudra gestures, bandha locks and visualisations all of which enhance your capacity to meditate more deeply. These practices prepare you for understanding your subtle energy system. Swami Muktibodhananda will elucidate the practicality of these techniques, and more, to enable you to bring a more fulfilling experience into life and express from your Higher Self.
A word from Swami Muktibodhananda: In 1972 I found yoga as an adjunct to classical ballet and soon realized that yoga was more than exercise or movement. It became clear to me that the major benefits of yoga practice were at an emotional, psychological and spiritual level. After meeting Paramahansa Swami Satyānanda in 1976 at the Sydney World Yoga Convention, I travelled to India to study under his direct guidance for 10 years. I lived at the Bihār School of Yoga, Munger, practicing various aspects of yoga and was instructed to teach classical Hatha Yoga, Health Management courses, Kriya Yoga, Tattwa Shuddhi meditation and Swara Yoga. During this time, I also authored ‘Swara Yoga, the Tantric Science of Brain Breathing’ and commentaries on ‘Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā, the Light on Hatha Yoga’, the C15 AD Sanskrit text by Yogi Swātmarāma. Both of these books are Bihar School of Yoga publications. In 1986 I had to leave India and return to Australia, where my base has been ever since. Paramahansa Swāmi Niranjanānanda gave me the title of Yogācharya, master of yoga, in 1993. I continue learning about mind and self in various ways, which includes having a family, and I travel to teach when possible.
