Join Creative Resident Mia Mulvey as she speaks about her research and art which she has been working on while at Bloedel, as well as projects she has developed in the Arctic, the Western U.S., and Europe. Her work is based on extensive field research and a deep sensitivity to place, drawing connections between science, material, and process.
Mia will also share an alternative photography method, a variation of the Chiba process, which she is currently working with. This non-toxic, contact-printing technique offers a sustainable alternative to traditional gum printing by eliminating hazardous chemicals, aligning with environmentally conscious practices and the use of materials conceptually rooted in the land.
