Players and fans from across the region will gather once again on Bainbridge Island for one of the sport’s most meaningful events: the 7th Annual Founder’s Tournament. The multi-day pickleball celebration will take place August 5–9 at the Founders Courts at Battle Point Park, honoring the island’s central role in the creation of the game while raising funds for local history.
The tournament serves as a fundraiser for the Bainbridge History Museum in partnership with the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District and the island’s vibrant pickleball community through BI Pickleball.
Athletes of all skill levels will take to the courts, creating an energetic atmosphere for both participants and spectators.
Honoring the Game’s Home
Few places in the world have a deeper connection to pickleball than Bainbridge Island, where the sport was first invented in 1965. The Founders Courts at Battle Point Park serve as a fitting setting for the annual tournament; bringing together players from near and far to celebrate the sport in the place where its story began.
As the popularity of pickleball continues to surge, the Founders Tournament remains grounded in its original mission: honoring the game’s roots, supporting local history, and bringing the community together through sport.
Whether you’re competing on the court or cheering from the sidelines, the 7th Annual Founder’s Tournament promises another exciting chapter in Bainbridge Island’s pickleball legacy.
