Description
On Tuesday April 22, 2025 at 6:30pm, join Eagle Harbor Book Company in welcoming Thor Hanson, presenting his inspiring book “Close to Home.” The scale of climate change can seem overwhelming. Thor, a practicing field biologist with over three decades of experience, writes we have the ability to affect meaningful, beneficial change close to home. He talks about reacquainting ourselves with the natural world beginning in our back yards, and details community driven efforts to catalogue local species and create environments where they can thrive, including how residents in Switzerland build 850 ponds to restore amphibian populations and in Oklahoma City planted milkweed to ensure the Monarch Butterfly has food for its long migration. Join us for an evening of revelation and illumination of the world just beyond your doorstep!
Free and open to the public but please RSVP to ensure adequate seating. Call 206-842-5332 or rsvp online at https://www.eagleharborbooks.com/event/award-winning-natural-history-writer-thor-hanson-reveals-nature-thrives-our-yards-gardens-and
