HomeStreet Bank has changed its name to Mechanics Bank as part of a strategic merger completed on September 2, 2025. HomeStreet Bank merged with and into Mechanics Bank, with Mechanics Bank surviving as the banking corporation and HomeStreet becoming the holding company renamed Mechanics Bancorp.
Customers of HomeStreet Bank will now see the Mechanics Bank name on branches, logos, and communications, but their account numbers and routing numbers remain unchanged. This merger creates a combined entity with 166 branches and over $22 billion in assets, expanding the bank's presence across the West Coast, including Bainbridge Island.
Founded in 1921, HomeStreet Bank offers consumer and commercial banking, mortgage lending and loans for residential construction, commercial real estate financing, investment and insurance products and services on the West Coast and Hawaii.
