Bainbridge Bike Co. is a full-service bike shop in downtown Winslow offering bike sales, rentals, repairs, and guided eBike tours. Formerly known as B.I.Cycle, the shop carries forward the island's cycling tradition and welcomes riders of every kind, young or old, casual or hardcore, and everyone in between.
No-pressure bike specialists help shoppers figure out which kind of bike suits the way they ride, whether that is a traditional road, mountain, or gravel bike or an electric model. Brands carried include Specialized, Orbea, Salsa, Yeti, Tern, and AIMA, and when a category is not in stock, the staff are happy to share what they know and point riders in the right direction.
Rentals are available by the half day or full day. The fleet is mostly electric cruisers outfitted with bags and gear for an island adventure, plus traditional road, mountain, and gravel bikes. Before heading out, staff go over curated routes on a whiteboard map of the island or put together a custom route, and helmets come with every rental. Riders must be 16 or older, and eBikes stay on Bainbridge Island.
Guided eBike tours pair a premium eBike with a local guide who shares the island's history, scenic stops, and hidden paths less traveled. Tours run two to three hours and include the eBike, helmet, panniers, and a bike lock. Tours need a minimum of two guests and at least 24 hours' notice.
The service department handles general maintenance, annual upkeep, tune-ups, and replacement parts. The easiest way to start is to bring your bike in for an evaluation, and calling ahead is a good idea.
