What is PAWS?
North Kitsap is a volunteer-based nonprofit animal welfare organization that promotes responsible pet ownership and the reduction of pet overpopulation. PAWS features low-cost spay/neuter and veterinary financial assistance, a lost and found pet registry, pet adoption, Senior Veterinary Assistance, a pet food bank, Animal Assisted Activities and Feral Cat Assistance.
PAWS History
Since 1975, PAWS of Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap has been more than an “animal rescue” group. Initiated by three Bainbridge women in a family garage, this public benefit organization embraced from its humble beginnings the sense of community that is so important in an island setting.
